"I'm sorry Mr. Perry, but your wife is terminally ill," said the surgeon. "I wish there was more I could do." Charles was not prepared to hear those dreadful words. His heart ached with the thought of losing his wife of thirty-six years. All he could think about was holding her and being near her while time allowed.
